It's Been a Busy Few Months!

In the time since I last posted I have moved house! It's all been very full on and exhausting but the house is amazing! I have a work room, a garden, a lovely kitchen and incredible views!

The view from my work room!

It's been a busy few months work wise too. I made favours for my sister's wedding (as well as my own dress and necklace!), bunting and a flower crown for my other sister's birthday, an assortment of tea cosies, cushion covers, cards and I have been commissioned to make a tunic from some BEAUTIFUL Indian silk. Exciting times!

Bunting and flower crown fit for a pixie princess!

My Beautiful Socks

After the sock knitting madness of Christmas 2015 I treated myself to this glorious yarn to make myself a pair.

It honestly could have been made for me! I love pink, purple and black PLUS it has silver sparkly bits in it too, perfect.

I finally finished something for myself!

This yarn is soooooooo beautiful!

I couldn't be happier with my new socks!

The yarn came from King Becky on Etsy and the pattern is mine.

Baby Wearing Poncho

After a LOT of knitting I have finished the baby wearing poncho I was commissioned to make!

I'm really pleased with the final result and there are only a couple of very simple things I would change for next time.

It has been very well received, someone even asked if I would sell the pattern on Ravelry! I'm definitely going to look at writing it up for sale, although I've never really written a pattern for anyone else but me to use so it will be an interesting challenge!

2015 in Retrospect

2015 was a BIG year for Baldy's Knits & Bits!

I got much more practice using the sewing machine, had some amazing custom orders and got really into jewellery making.

It was a great year for my confidence and motivation, I feel so much more capable than I did a year ago and I've learned not to completely dismiss an idea before finding out if I'm actually able to make it!

Socks, socks, socks!

11 pairs of knee high and 2 pairs of ankle socks made in 10 weeks!
It's the biggest order I've ever had, it almost broke me but I am very proud of the finished product!
They are all made using Crazy Zauberball and Regia 4ply for the cuffs, heels and toes.

All done with day to spare and appreciate the work I did!
